Alt images are a useful and less known Search Engine Optimization asset. Originally intended to help the disabled, an alt tag is code that specifies text to be displayed in the event that an image can’t be loaded, or if images are turned off for accessability reasons. This gives us a field to insert keyword rich content in every image, which is great for SEO! This text doesn’t have to be spammy, it can be useful and specific information. Not only can this be done to images in your content, we can apply it to the graphical navigation of your site as well.
